Some proved universally popular, others split opinions. All of these notes and opinions are mine and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the whole group.

The tin and bottle are loud and proud. They scream "look at me" with stylised teal coloured packaging and design.
I was a little unsure of this bottle but my misgivings were misplaced. This is delightful and its self confidence is not misplaced.
On the nose you get salty sea air, sweet honey and peaty vegetation.
By adding a tiny drop of water it opens up and releases cut hay and some light floral notes.
On the palate you can tell it is a youngish Whisky. There is a rawness which shows its 10 years young but not is a bad way. It has a brash confidence. It is creamy, buttery and oily with sea salt, honey, citrus and malt. The finish is sweet and malty.
Good value for money.

This has a lovely nose of green apples, sultanas and sherry,
The Palate brings warming spices, green apples, sultanas, some sherry, honey and winter spices.
Very smooth.
The finish is long, dry with a tang of spice and oak.
This is much better than the 12 year old.

The nose was full and alive with promise. Salted caramel, apples, pears, dry with hint of aniseed
The palate delivers oak, caramel, peat, wafts of smoke, sultanas and fairly smooth. That said, I find it a bit disappointing because the nose promises more than the palate delivers.
The finish is short.

I will set out my stall from the very beginning. I love it! It does appear to be a Marmite Whisky as some of our group completely disagree with me on this.
The nose is very very smokey with a sweet with hint of vanilla.
If you don't fall in love with your first sip then take another. This is the most smoke laden drink I have ever tried. It is almost over powering in its intensity, rich, thick and woody. The underlying sweetness blends perfectly and the smokey peat rolls on and on.
It finishes with spicy, sweet smoke and rolls on and on with a magnificent long smokey finish.
If you like Islay or want to try something different then this is exceptional and a must buy.

What a cracker! This family business is currently in the hands of the 6th successive generation and long may it continue. When drinking this I really don't mind where it comes from because this bottle stands out on it own. It is a wonderful sherried whisky which oozes class and competence.
In the glass you see a golden amber liquid. On the nose you start with Sherry, salt, dark fruits including dates and raisins followed with a twist of orange peel.
This is one of the best sherried whiskies that I have tried. It is smooth, rich and well rounded.
The finish is long with sweet sherry, dried fruits and a mild spice. I have seen the description of Christmas cake used for this bottle and I can't disagree. It's a real gem and one to be savoured.

Light gold in appearance. Sweet fruity and thick on the nose with orange zest and lemon peel. There is a tiny bite upfront then sweet, floral, mild spice with a honey and fruit finish which I found fairly short but overall still very pleasant. A great entry level malt.
